Banana Bars



Ingredients -
1/2 cup Butter
1 1/2 cups Granulated Sugar
2 Large Eggs
2 cups All-Purpose Flour
1 teaspoon Coarse Salt
1 teaspoon Soda
1 cup Buttermilk
1/2 teaspoon Banana Flavoring
2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
1/2 cup Walnuts
3 mashed Bananas

Frosting:

1/4 cup Butter
1/2 cups Sugar
1/4 Milk
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1 1/4 cups sifted Powdered Sugar


Preparation:

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

2. In a medium-mixing bowl, sift flour, salt and soda together.

3. In a separate bowl cream butter, sugar and eggs. Stir in buttermilk.

4. Add butter mixture to flour.

5. Fold in bananas, banana flavoring, vanilla extract and walnuts.

6. Pour batter into 15” x 10” baking dish.

7. Bake 25 minutes, until light brown.

Frosting:

1. In a small saucepan, melt butter.

2. Add sugar and gently boil 2 minutes.

3. Add milk, and stir as it nearly boils.

4. Stir in vanilla, remove from heat, and cool slightly.

5. Add powdered sugar.

6. Frost while bars are still warm.
